You know you are a photographer when. . .

A post dedicated to all the Shutterbugs .
:)
From personal experience plus observation.

You know you are a photographer when,

You see everything as a photograph even before it's taken.

You have stopped in the middle of a conversation to go get your cam cos something suddenly popped into your mind,
it was a photographic moment.

You get jealous when someone has more megapixel/zoom than you.

You are very particular about every picture, it has to be Perfect.

You've got thousands of photographs but rarely appear in any of them.

1 GB of memory lasts most people a month, but barely an afternoon for you.

You hear, "Wow, your Cam takes really nice photos" -
And you smile, but grit your teeth.

People ask you whether you've really taken the snap, very irritating. :P :)

A trip would take twice the normal time, because you constantly stop to take photos or go back.

You delete more photos in a week than most people make all year.

You’ve crawled on the ground to get a shot of something rusty or tiny.

*Your camera equipment is worth more than your car.

*You need just one more lens.

*This is from all those awesome pro-photographers :) )

You love shooting, hate editing . (At times)

Your family doesn’t recognize you without a camera covering your face. :P

You cant deny it. Having 3-inch LCD is an amazing thing if your camera has it.

You've gotten into a debate about who has better cameras, Canon or Nikon.

And finally,

You’ve been up before dawn or out in the freezing cold or even done something semi-dangerous…
All for a photograph. :)

I really believe there are things no one would see, if I didn't photograph them ~ Diane Arbus .

Come out and Play !

CWG.

Did you just smirk, or laugh?

“God knows what’s gonna happen?”,
“It has become a joke! Games Village. Literally. Ha-ha!”
Facebook status updates have been filled with such sarcastic criticisms.
I was pretty much of the same opinion.

The politicians have made a joke out of the whole event .

6.7 billion dollars, most expensive Commonwealth Games if I’m right.
One wonders where all the money went.
Oh, we all know where it went, don’t we?

The world, again, found a reason to point its finger at our hygiene conditions, poor infrastructure, security fiasco and failure to meet deadlines.
They carried out sting operations, many of the best performers backed out.
Expected, isn’t it?

Now let’s stop all the media hammered negative thinking, and think on your own.

What is the Commonwealth Games about?
Is it about how awesome the stadium is, how good the bridges are and how many million dollars were spent?
Yes, the conditions are supposed to be up to the mark and, our politicians will never get better.
But is that the main motive behind organising CWG?

A sporting competition bringing together the members of the British Empire was first proposed by the Reverend Astley Cooper in 1891 when he wrote an article in The Times suggesting a "Pan-Britannic-Pan-Anglican Contest and Festival every four years as a means of increasing the goodwill and good understanding of the British Empire".

It’s about the Games!
How many of us know the Indians representing the events?
Sushil Kumar (Wrestling) , Tejaswini Sawant (Shooting), Tarundeep Rai and Rahul Banerjee(Archery), M.C.Mary Kom(Boxing). these all are Gold medal winners.
Arjun Atwal, Saina Nehwal. . . Need I name more?
And many Indian athletes are at top of their form than ever before.
We have some real good performers to bank upon.

And we, the people of India instead of supporting them, are criticizing the whole event.

These are the people that deserve attention.NOT the dismal performers, namely the committee headed by Mr.Kalmadi who bought a sham to the event.
We just blog and talk about the shoddy work by the politicians.
How about being a bit enthusiastic for the sports people who are representing our country out there?

Let’s rest the whole fracas and cheer for our country.
That’s what we Indians are best at.
Hope and believe even in the direst of conditions, that the things will be just right.
And they will. :)

Blah! :D

I can't sleep at night.
Neither day.
Progressive insomnia. =P

I can become a radio jockey.
The night one.
Who plays requests of owls and romantic souls.

I will be the one who'll solve the problems of broken hearts (dardbhari dastaan) of the caller's friend. :-P
(So lucky he is to have such a caring friend)

I'd play a bhojpuri song at 2 am if I'm bored.
Or a russian one. No one'd care.

There will be a special section for lame jokes.
Yes, i know you all are giving me those dirty looks.
But i can't see. So, Ha ha.

Friends who send chocolates will get special attention for requests.
;D

Rj Aisha on 143 fm.
Wheee! :D
Listen to my show ok?

P.s. No, i don't have multiple personality disorder.
P.p.s.: No radio jockeys were harmed while writing this note. =P

Life's A Stage. . .

I'm a mime artist.
Life's my stage.
You, are the audience.

I'm a mime artist.

I can make people smile, cry, laugh out loud..
All without saying a word.

I'm a mime artist.

A made up life for everyone else's entertainment.

White face, red lips. A mask.

I'm a mime artist.

One day, it will rain.

All the masks will be washed away..

All the memories hidden behind will come forth..

The tears won't be seen.

I'll always be a mime artist.
I love being one. =)

Can't let it go. . .

..__Long silence..
"Umm. .  Okay then, bye! :)"
"Yeah, will text you, bye, take care! :)"

Click.
Call duration: 8 mins.

Tears welled up in her eyes.
She opened one of the many audio files and plugged in her earphones.

She drifted off to sleep an hour later,
their conversations always made her happy.

It had all changed, nothing could be done. . .

P.S.I love you :)

My previous post was about a real bad mood swing.
I am out of it now.
Yaay! *enjoys the relieved smiles of friends* :P :D

It was all thanks to that one person, who stood with me
throughout the roller coaster ride of Life.

Held me tight, even when I pushed you away saying I needed to be alone.

Listened to all the shit I talk during mood swings.

Even though we fight, taunt, cry,
don't talk for hours on the phone, or barely text, now.

I know you will be there.
Always.

You're awesome. Totally.

P.S. This post is dedicated to you. You mean the world to me, though I rarely say it.

I love you for who you are,
Never-mind the taunts. :P
and right now you're mine. :)

Not another mood swing

I am writing here because i'm feeling low.

I can't always be happy OK? I can act happy.

When you are left alone, chances that your friends who always said that they'll be there, won't. . .

People who I thought were my best friends, seem miles away..
Like the cars I stare at from the terrace.

Just wish I had a big eraser, which would erase out the bad memories. I really need one right now. :):

There are days of frustration
when I say stuff to people close to me, and I don't always mean it. But sometimes,
I do .

And then I call it a mood swing and shove it off.

Expectations are a bad thing.
Never expect even from your bestest people.
Surprises are good. :)

P.S.I love making people smile :)

Only if they realize I need the same too, on some days. :):

P.P.S.: No friends were harmed while writing this note.

There are days, when someone gives you a huge lecture about importance of a thing and nothing falls on ear.
And, then there are a few, when even a tiny incident or something you observe, changes your perspective of life. :)

It was a typical Monday morning. *sigh*
And it was pretty normal day, till I had this tiny cold war with my friend, following which I ended up texting a rude message. I threw the cell phone in my bag and hurried off to catch the usual 8:30 local. Now, I was feeling really bad for the things I'd said, but hey, it's not my mistake completely, right?!
Plus, I had my physics test to worry about, so I forced my head into the book and began solving the problems. [Yeah, I got a place to sit. ;)]

After I reached my destination, I took out the cell phone and checked. No reply. . . Bad.

I was climbing down the bridge in that pathetic state of mind, and suddenly I heard some weird sound. I turned around.
I was intrigued by the source of sound. . . And then, I realized. They were two school girls talking.

They were mute.

They were communicating with each other using the sign language.
And in that attempt their face was so full of expressions, that I couldn't help smiling with them.

That, was the moment,
I realized the importance of the ability to 'say' the words which we so carelessly throw at people.

Just because we have the ability to 'talk', we say things, sometimes, even without realizing the consequence. Sounds preachy, I know. But imagine yourself with no voice.
You are really happy and you just can't share it. Try.

Sucks, doesn't it. =|

Just.

Have you met someone whose been the reason behind the most smiles and the most tears as well ?

I have. :(:

November Rain. :)

26th November 2009

Place: Bedroom balcony. Time: 10:35pm
Started out as a cloudy dawn,

The black cloud thought it should not warn,

what with 'quirky' being a trend these days,

Nothing's wrong with the 'November' rains.

It enjoyed the way people gaped,
was sure they didn't expect him,
'In November?' they wondered aloud,

'What could be the reason behind the appearance of this unwelcome cloud?'

What started as drizzling turned into July rain,

Many lips curved into smiles,

It soothed the October heat's pain..

'It's spring time!', I protested to the cloud,

'Very unfair, this is not the time for you to take the share!'

The cloud just chuckled, and said

'Everyone talks about the weather,

no one does anything about it!'

Wake up before It's too late,
the little black cloud in November,
is just a messenger from the future. =)
